"revived."

i was looking forward to coming home early today and relaxing...but i got a flat tire which caused
me to wait around in hemet for almost an hour before getting help from aaa. such a damper to the rest of my manic monday. seriously...after 8 hours of work with stomach aches and sore quadriceps the last thing i wanted to do was get stuck in the desert longer than planned.

yesterday...i decided to become a sponsor (big brother) to a child in need through the christian foundation for children and aging (cfca - check out www.cfcausa.org). his name is juan pedro ejcalon aju and he is six years-old, living in xepatan, patzun, guatemala. his picture was the first one to really stand out to me and while i did go around looking at many others...i ended up coming back to him. i couldn't pass up on my little brother. and so...now i have someone who
is counting on me to support him in whatever way possible financially and with prayers aplenty. i won't let juan down...i'm going to raise him up.

summer revival was a definite great time. fiat had a damn good performance. i'm so happy for and proud of my friends...especially my sister. one of the highlights of my life was definitely their
performance of coldplay's "fix you." oh my goodness...my sister's vocals along with all those
genius instrumentals was a sensory euphoria. finishing off with "don't stop believing" was very appropriate haha. all the other bands (and justin rivera) did well and i give all the finest props to them.

this past weekend wasn't as productive as planned but i did a lot of good things. yambeezy's bbq, martin's surprise birthday dinner, and the impromptu summer revival after-party at yard house gave me the opportunity to not just spend time with my friends but catch up with some i haven't really talked to in awhile. i made up for the lack of sleep i get during the week and i managed to work out after taking the week off (last week was tough). all in all...this weekend may not have been what i wanted...but it turned out to be what i needed.

i accomplished something i've been hoping to do all summer by watching an la galaxy game last thursday night. i went with arthur and paul and we had an awesome time. our seats were close and discounted...double the pleasure, double the fun haha. technically...it was a chivas usa home game but it didn't matter because galaxy fans (like us) were in full effect. i'm glad that the first game we saw was a super clasico. it was exciting to be in the crowd and the experience was classic. david beckham and landon donovan are for real. soccer fans are really like no other. even if it ended in a draw, la won the tournament and we left the stadium happy and wanting more.

two weeks until scrc and the human race!

summer is going by fast...make the most of it before it burns out.
